George CLOONEY PRODUCING -- AND MAY DIRECT -- WALL ST. BAILOUT PIC

George.clooney.blitzGeorge Clooney and Grant Heslov’s production shingle is on board to produce a Wall Street bailout pic based on a 2009 Washington Post article titled “The $700 Billion Man," Variety's Jeff Sneider (@TheInSneider) and Stuart Oldham (@s_oldham) exclusively report. The project is being developed as a potential directing vehicle for Clooney, though that piece is still tentative. Todd Wagner and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban's 2929 Entertainment optioned the rights to Laura Blumenfeld's 2009 article about TARP mastermind Neel Kashkari, who helped develop the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), which bailed out the big banks following the economic collapse in 2008.
