MICHAEL CERA MAKES PILGRIMAGE TO INDIE THRILLER 'MAGIC MAGIC'
Michael Cera has kept his head down since "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World," last summer's box-office dog (despite across-the-board critical and fan raves). For his comebacker, Cera has chosen the indie thriller "Magic, Magic," Variety's Justin Kroll (@krolljvar) exclusively reports. Pic revolves around a girl vacationing with her friends in a remote area of Chile who slowly starts losing her mental faculties; she tries to get her friends’ attention, but they ignore her until it’s too late. It's a bit of a career left turn for Cera, who's known for comedic roles in pics like “Superbad” and “Juno,” and on TV’s short-lived but critically loved “Arrested Development.”
