"Friday Night Lights" thesp Jesse Plemons and veteran character actor David Warshofsky have joined the cast of Paul Thomas Anderson’s untitled religious drama, Variety's Jeff Snedier exclusively reports. Philip Seymour Hoffman stars as a charismatic intellectual who creates a belief system that closely mirrors Scientology. Joaquin Phoenix and Laura Dern co-star. Plemons plays the son of Hoffman's character. Warshofsky previously worked with Anderson on "There Will Be Blood" and was recently cast in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln."
