Cranston books another: 'The Gangster Squad'

Cranston Things have been breaking pretty well for Bryan Cranston these days, thankyouverymuch. The actor is in negotiations to join the cast of “The Gangster Squad,” the period police saga opposite Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Michael Pena and Anthony Mackie, Variety's Jeff Sneider and Dave McNary exclusively report. Cranston will portray Max Kennard, a laconic LAPD officer from Texas, in the story of the LAPD’s struggle with increasing crime and corruption in the 1940s. As SHOWBLITZ first reported, Cranston also just scored a role in "Argo," which Ben Affleck is starring in and directing.
