Janney Strikes 'Lightning' Lead
Allison Janney has nabbed the female lead in the upcoming indie comedy "Struck by Lightning," as Variety's Dave McNary exclusively reports. The film, to be directed by Brian Dannelly, was written by and stars "Glee"'s Chris Colfer, and opens with Colfer's character being struck and killed by lightning. The film then tells a retrospective, coming-of-age story about Colfer's character's exploits during his senior year in high school. Janney will also be appearing in this year's "The Help" and has finished production on indies "The Oranges and "Liberal Arts." "Lightning" is set to begin filming this July in Los Angeles.
