Comic-Con: 'Fright Night' Bites Light
In the horror-comedy "reimagining" of "Fright Night," Colin Farrell plays the vampire Jerry Dandrige, a part made sorta cult-famous in 1985 by Chris Sarandon.
On Friday, at DreamWorks' presentation of the horror-comedy, panelist Farrell said he was reluctant to take the part. The reason: Sarandon -- who happened to be moderating.
"It's kind of your fault, actually," Farrell said to his predecessor. "When I heard they were remaking it I was dubious, of course."
Sarandon (who also later voiced Jack Skelington in "The Nightmare Before Christmas") seemed to approve of Farrell's feral take on the undead antagonist, who's out to torment his neighbors, played by Anton Yelchin and Toni Collette, also in attendance.
"Well, you made Jerry your own, and I'm proud to pass the torch," Sarandon said.
