Joan Allen, Albert Finney are 'Bourne' Again
Though the “Bourne” franchise is moving on without Matt Damon, some familiar faces are expected to return to keep some sense of continuity. Variety's Justin Kroll and Jeff Sneider exclusively report that Joan Allen and Albert Finney are in negotiations to reprise their roles in “The Bourne Legacy.” Tony Gilroy is directing from a script he penned about another assasin — not Jason Bourne — who trained in the same program, to be played by Jeremy Renner. Other newcomers inlcude Rachel Weisz and Oscar Isaaks, with Edward Norton in talks to play a villain, as SHOWBLITZ first reported July 12. Allen first appeared in “The Bourne Supremacy” as a CIA agent trying to capture Bourne; she reappered in the third chapter, “The Bourne Ultimatum.” Finney also appeared in a small role in “Ultimatum” as a doctor overseeing the assassin training project.
