Swank Puts On Double Armor for 'Shrapnel'

Swank Hilary Swank is set to star in as well as produce  "Shrapnel," a film based on the comicbook about a former military officer who organizes a revolt on Venus, Variety's Jeff Sneider exclusively reports.

The story takes place in the year 2250,  and follows a former Solar Alliance Marine, who spearheads an uprising against an oppressive solar government in order to fight for the freedom of her people.

"Shrapnel" began as a graphic novel trilogy, and in addition to the film, has also spawned an iPhone game.

Swank recently starred in "Conviction" and produced  "Something Borrowed."

She will next be seen in "New Year's Eve," which will open Dec. 9.
