'Dragon Tattoo' inks a latecomer: Alan Dale

Dale It’s better late than never for Alan Dale, as the Kiwi thesp has joined the cast of Sony’s “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” — even as production comes to an end, Variety's Justin Kroll exclusively reports. The TV vet, who starred in “The O.C.” and "Lost," was called in to play a career detective on the verge of retirement. David Fincher is directing the American version of the book by Stieg Larsson, which already stars Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, Robin Wright and Christopher Plummer.
