David Oyelowo is one of those actors who's been around for awhile and has always been busy, but for whatever reason is coming into prominence now, with roles in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," "The Help," and the December Lucasfilm release "Red Tails." Now he's booked a role opposite Tom Cruise in the Paramount and Skydance Productions thriller “One Shot,” Variety's Justin Kroll was first to report. Christopher McQuarrie will direct from a script he developed from Lee Child's book series that follows former military policeman turned drifter Jack Reacher, who'll be played by Cruise. Oyelowo will play a veteran homicide detective investigating a mall sniping that Reacher gets involved in.
