Shawn Levy is signed on direct the Frankenstein pic coming together at Fox, a significant step forward for the studio now in a race with at least a half-dozen other projects based on the classic monster tale, Variety's Rachel Abrams reports. “Chronicle” scribe Max Landis has been writing a treatment for the studio, as SHOWBLITZ first reported. Fox had been eyeing several high-profile directors, including Paul Greengrass and David Yates, but Levy (“Night at the Museum,” “Real Steel”) emerged with the gig today.
