Dog Days

Racing-in-the-RainMark Bomback is penning the adaptation of Garth Stein novel THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN for Universal Pictures, Variety’s Justin Kroll reports. The film will star Patrick Dempsey who will also produce with Neal Moritz. Tania Landau and Joannie Burstein will exec produce. The story follows a family's daily life as seen through the eyes of their dog (no word yet whether the film will be in black and white). Bomback's credits include Fox's UNSTOPPABLE and RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN. He most recently did a rewrite of Fox's RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. UTA repped the novel on behalf of Stein and book agents, Folio Literary Management.
