GK Films is betting big on youth -- specifically 14-year-old HUGO star Asa Butterfield. The banner, which produced HUGO, has signed Butterfield to an overall two-year deal to develop projects in which the Brit thesp would star, Variety's Dave McNary reports. Butterfield built a relationship with producer Graham King during HUGO, which won the National Board of Review and is among the leading award season contenders. Butterfield closed a deal in November to star as the title character in ENDER'S GAME, Odd Lot Entertainment's adaptation of Orson Scott Card's 1985 sci-fi novel.
