Lyne may be back behind the camera for Grisham pic 'The Associate'
EXCLUSIVE: After a 10-year absence from the helm, Adrian Lyne (FATAL ATTRACTION, FLASHDANCE) is in talks to direct the John Grisham adaption of THE ASSOCIATE for Paramount. Story follows a recent Yale grad coerced into taking a job with a prestige firm after he’s given information about a multi-billion dollar case. Pic, which has been sitting in development limbo for some time, originally had Shia LaBeouf starring and Tony Scott possibly directing. With a budget finally set by the studio in the $25-30 million range, Paramount will now look to find its star. Sources say the studio is high on Andrew Garfield after he finishes his stint on the Broadway play DEATH OF A SALESMAN this summer. Lyne, who also directed 9 1/2 WEEKS and INDECENT PROPOSAL, last directed a studio feature in 2002 with UNFAITHFUL.
