Rooney Mara is in the final stages of negotiation for Spike Jonze’s next project alongside actors Joaquin Phoenix, Samantha Morton, and Amy Adams. This after Variety sources confirmed that Carey Mulligan opted out due to scheduling conflicts. With the screenplay by Jonze and himself directing the movie, it tells the story of a man falling in love with his computer’s voice. Mara’s role is still unclear. If she pushes through with this project, this will be her next assignment as soon as she wraps up filming for “The Bitter Pill”. Jonze’s last film was “Where the Wild Things Are”, which was in 2009. Signing Mara on board the yet-unnamed film will be the final element to complete his comeback film.
