'Mormon' star Gad in talks to play Woz
The indie movie about Steve Jobs is close to filling the role of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, with “The Book of Mormon” star Josh Gad is in talks for the role opposite Ashton Kutcher, Jeff Sneider reports.
Joshua Michael Stern's pic is written by Matt Whiteley, and chronicles Steve Jobs from wayward hippie to co-founder of Apple, where he became one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of our time.
Gad is making a deal to play Wozniak, who created the Apple I computer and co-created the Apple II computer in the mid-1970s.
Gad recently earned a Tony nomination for Trey Parker and Matt Stone's “The Book of Mormon” and is set to star in the NBC pilot “1600 Penn,” a family comedy set in the White House that Gad co-created and will exec produce.
