Good news for moviegoers who will be watching “The Hobbit” in the 48FPS format, because US exhibitors have decided not to add any charge on it. However, audience still need to pay additional for the usual 3D charge. Although someday, there might be a possibility of upcharge from the 24FPS to 48FPS viewing, Warner refused to advocate the additional charge now. As earlier reported, Warner Bros. has plans of rolling out “The Hobbit” in 48FPS version at a limited release. This will be launched on December 14. The fact that there was a mix of reaction among audiences at the CinemaCon influenced the studio’s decision not to upcharge the HFR version.
