With high-frame rate movies expected to be the next big thing, Warner Bros. plans to release Peter Jackson’s “Hobbit” in this format. However, a limited HFR release is planned. Only a few select locations will experience the HFR release leaving some major cities as well. Feedback from individuals who have seen the “Hobbit” in the 48 fps 3D observe that the movie looks infinitely better than the last one shown in April at the CinemaCon. Despite this feedback, the studio still opted for a limited release, getting a feel of the market response, then expanding to the second and third movies depending on audience reception. As of this writing, theatres aren’t ready yet with HFR projection.
