Zellweger to helm, star in '4 1/2 Minutes'

ZellwegerEXCLUSIVE: Renee Zellweger is set to make her directorial debut with 4 1/2 MINUTES, a comedy in which she'll star opposite Johnny Knoxville, reports Variety's Jeff Sneider. Written by Anthony Tambakis (WARRIOR) and based on the life and comedy of real-life stand-up Dov Davidoff, who shares story credit, 4 1/2 MINUTES follows Jimmy Bennett (Knoxville), a commitment-phobic, train-wreck of a comedian whose life is falling apart when he takes a job looking after the genius son of single mom P.J. Andersen (Zellweger). Story is set in the New York City stand-up comedy world, and production is skedded to start in Gotham in February.
