British actor Henry Cavill is internationally renowned for playing Superman in blockbuster films like Man of Steel, Justice League, and Black Adam. While he may be an only child on screen, Henry actually grew up with 4 brothers – Piers, Niki, Simon, and Charlie Cavill.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Henry spoke about his boisterous upbringing as 1 of 5 brothers.

“I have four brothers,” he told host Jimmy Kimmel. “I’m number four out of five, so the second youngest… The eldest gets the toughest game, 100%, because they get all the discipline. By the time it gets to us, it’s all just free-for-all.”

The Cavill brothers were raised on the picturesque island of Jersey by their parents – Colin Cavill, a stockbroker, and Marianne Dalgliesh, a secretary. In an interview with British GQ, Henry shared that playing video games with his brothers is still one of his favorite activities today.

While his siblings have opted to avoid the spotlight, Henry frequently gives fans a glimpse into their close-knit bond by posting photos of them hanging out. “Durrell challenge adventure today with Team Cavill! Nik, Charlotte, and I have now done 5 years of Durrell Challenges together,” he wrote in an Instagram post with brother Niki and sister-in-law Charlotte. The trio completed a 13 km charity walk through London to raise money for wildlife conservation.

At the start of 2022, Henry also let fans know that he spent the Christmas holidays surrounded by family. He posted photos of the mouthwatering feast he cooked alongside his brother, writing:

“My brother and I spent a lot of time around the big green egg! All the food we put on there just won’t fit into this post so you’ll just have to imagine it! The Christmas dinner cook was the most taxing, but the most rewarding.”

Now let’s take a closer look at each of Henry Cavill’s 4 brothers:

Piers Cavill – The Eldest Brother

Piers Cavill is the oldest of the Cavill brothers. Always one to support his younger brother’s thriving acting career, Piers walked the red carpet with Henry at the London premiere of Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018.

Details about Piers’ early life are scarce, but it is known that he attended boarding school and served as an officer in the British armed forces. According to his LinkedIn profile, Piers has since focused his career on the architecture and construction sectors. He maintains a very private personal life.

As the eldest Cavill brother, Piers likely helped lay the foundation for the unbreakable bond shared between the siblings. During Henry’s interview with Jimmy Kimmel, he explained:

“The eldest gets the toughest game, 100%, because they get all the discipline. By the time it gets to us, it’s all just free-for-all.”

Niki Richard Dalgliesh Cavill – The War Hero

The second oldest Cavill brother, Niki Richard Dalgliesh “Nik” Cavill was born in the 1970s. He followed in Piers’ footsteps by embarking on a military career, becoming a decorated soldier in the renowned Royal Marines division of the British armed forces.

In March 2012, Niki was appointed as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth herself. This prestigious honor was in recognition of his heroic service during counter-insurgency campaigns in Afghanistan. According to a statement from the Royal Marines, Niki displayed extraordinary judgment and care in extremely challenging combat situations.

To this day, Henry remains immensely proud of his brother’s military accomplishments. When Niki became an ambassador for the Royal Marines Charity in 2014, Henry shared:

“I choose to support this charity, not only because of my obvious familial connection, but because of the deep respect I have for the Royal Marines as men and as a corps.”

In 2002, Niki became engaged to Charlotte-Rhodes Brooks, embarking on a new chapter of his life. The Cavill brothers share an unbreakable bond, but Niki’s courage on the battlefield is undoubtedly a point of immense pride.

Simon Granville Dalgliesh Cavill – The Strongman

Simon Granville Dalgliesh Cavill is the third oldest Cavill brother. He has maintained privacy over the years, but Henry gave fans some insight into Simon’s strength during his Jimmy Kimmel Live! interview.

When asked if all the Cavill brothers shared a muscular physique, Henry replied:

“We’re all of a similar size. But my [older] brother, one up, was four years older than me. He was considerably larger and incredibly strong. Simon – he was so strong that we would make fun of him by saying ‘Hulk smash’ every time he got angry.”

While details of Simon’s personal life are unknown, it’s clear that his physical power made quite an impression on his younger brothers!

Charlie Edward Dalgliesh Cavill – The Family Man

The youngest of the siblings, Charles Edward “Charlie” Dalgliesh Cavill was born on April 20, 1985. He studied marketing, accounting, and economics at the University of the West of England in Bristol, per his LinkedIn profile.

Charlie now resides in Alberta, Canada with his wife Heather, and their 4 children. According to Charlie’s Instagram, he holds dual British and Canadian citizenship after living in Canada for over 10 years.

Charlie and photographer Heather married in a 2013 ceremony in Calgary. The couple owns a business called Cavill & Wicks, selling luxury coconut soy candles and accessories.

Aside from entrepreneurship, Charlie is a budding film producer and social media influencer. He hosts an Instagram series called “Cocktails with Charlie” where he demonstrates recipes for classic and innovative drinks.

It’s clear that – despite the distance – Charlie maintains a close connection with his older brothers. During the holidays, Henry shared that he and Charlie bonded while cooking festive meals on the barbecue grill.

A Brotherhood Like No Other

As one of 5 brothers, Henry Cavill grew up in a lively household full of camaraderie and adventure. Despite each leading very different lives, the Cavill brothers remain tightly knit.
