Exclusive News: Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Rebecca’ is set for a future remake of DreamWorks together with Working Title Films. The remake will be written by Steven Knight, who wrote ‘Eastern Promises’. Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan are producing for Working Title Films.

This classic mystery tells of an innocent young woman who gets married to a rich widower only to discover that the memory of the first wife still haunts her husband and even the servants in the huge mansion.

Steven Knight will base the script on the Daphne DuMaurier original book as he writes the remake. Knight has garnered attention with his work on ‘Dirty Pretty Things’ by Stephen Frears and recently, on the movie adaptation of bestselling novel, ‘The Lost Symbol’ by Dan Brown.  As of this writing, Knight is set to make his debut as a director for the movie ‘Hummingbird‘, starring Jason Statham. He is represented by CAA.
